This position is responsible for tending to and operating CNC and other machine tools for the manufacture or secondary machining of medical devices and/or commercial products. The Machine Operator will ensure that machined products meet prescribed quality standards through the use of precision measuring equipment.
- Communicates with the supervisor to determine daily work assignments.
- Performs basic operation of CNC and manual machine tools.
- Uses band saw to cut material for use.
- Loads stock materials into the machine to initiate the machining process.
- Observes continuous operation of machines, watching for malfunctions. Contacts the supervisor to make necessary adjustments.
- Trims excess material from parts as needed or performs secondary machining operations.
- Removes finished product from machine and checks to ensure conformance to blueprint, using visual inspection and precision measuring equipment such as gauges and calipers.
- Packages and labels identifying information on products when necessary.
- Follows Standard Operating Procedures, and adheres to quality, cleaning, safe work practices, and GMP standards.
- Completes all required paperwork and inputs production data into production software.
- Maintains a clean workspace.
- Performs additional tasks as needed.
